With over 25 years of financial advisory and banking experience, Pivotal's President, Terry L. Allen, has led a wide spectrum of financing transactions in a variety of sectors. Her range of experience is summarized below. Pivotal also works with a network of experts with expertise in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, operations, tax and legal.
Since 1996, Terry's experience has included:
- Independent financial advisor on domestic and international financings; and
- Senior Vice President and Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Project Finance & Privatization practice in Calgary, Canada.
From 1987 to 1996, Terry was a senior corporate banker managing multi-billion dollar portfolios at TD Bank and CIBC. Her banking experience includes:
- Manager, Corporate and Investment Banking Group for TD Bank in Calgary, building and managing the senior corporate banking portfolio;
- Key member of the project finance group and Senior Account Manager in the Oil and Gas Group for CIBC in Calgary; and
- Worked for CIBC in Toronto in corporate and project finance, trade finance and credit decision making, including providing real estate project financing to major Canadian real estate developers.
Terry has closed a wide variety of transactions, including project financing (debt and equity), expansion financing, merger and acquisition financing, general corporate financing, bridge financing, bond financing, mezzanine/subordinated debt financing, balance sheet re-capitalization and restructuring, asset securitization and leasing. She has worked on transactions in Canada, the U.S., Latin America, the U.K. and Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Alexander K. Jones
Analyst

Alexander K. Jones joined Pivotal in 2011. Mr. Jones is responsible for constructing financial models, performing industry and company analysis, and drafting documents and presentations used in the financing process.
Mr. Jones attended school in New York on both academic and athletic (lacrosse) scholarships, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Finance Concentration) and a minor in Economics. Mr. Jones also excelled athletically as he was a three-time All-Conference player, was named All-World in 2010, and holds an NCAA record for goals in a career.
Prior to joining Pivotal, Mr. Jones worked part-time with CIBC Wood Gundy.
Since joining Pivotal, Mr. Jones has been involved with clients in the midstream energy infrastructure, wind power, distributed power, emissions scrubbing and oil sands businesses, as well as providing research on a variety of other projects for Pivotal.
